I finally made it out for some astrophotography again. Kind of the same as one of my last trips....go to work most of the day, leave for the location after work, drive 6 hours one way, take a bunch of pictures, then drive back home. I got home at about 9am. lol But, it was all worth it. The skies are incredibly dark here. In fact, they are so dark that the light from the stars lights up the ground as you can see in the picture. These were taken during the new moon. I hope you all enjoy. So shooting the milky way is obviously something I've done my fair share of. But, stacking them is something entirely new. This was maybe the 2nd image I've ever tried stacking. I used Sequetor to stack a total of 6 images. I could certainly push this further in post if I really wanted to but I prefer a sort of natural look to it. There seems to be a lot of potential doing it this way though. I may try some more in the future. I stacked in Sequetor, and edited it with Lightroom. Now that NEOWISE posts have died down slightly I thought I would share another one. This was taken at Little Sable Lighthouse in Mears Michigan. How was I able to get this shot you ask? Well, I'm glad you asked I had climbed to the top of one of the sand dunes near the lighthouse, extended my tripod to the highest possible setting, set my camera up, framed it (thankfully my 6D Mark II has a swivel LCD screen) then started shooting with my phone (tethered to by my UNLEASHED). I figured it was about due time to take another selfie....I really try to shy away from this side of the camera but this was picture perfect and I didn't have a model in sight so it was up to me I guess. Lol I have a Lume Cube Panel Go behind me and my cell phone stuffed in the sand aside of me lighting me up. I'm using my UNLEASHED to trigger my camera via my phone.
