Do U think you'll ever become a professional foot model, like model for a professional photographer
I was never interested in being photographed professionally. I had friends try to drag me along to photo shoots, do events as a promo model or rings girl type things, be extras in movies filmed locally etc…. But I was never into it. It’s a dirty industry and most of the events the girls were pressured sexually or hit on by the photographers. Even companies like Playboy put friends of mine in situations where they were “models” for hired events, and would be in charge of one area and had to leave out of fear of being raped.
I see myself as more of the photographer/creator than the model. It just happens that my feet/body/voice appeal to a growing community.
My Advice for Potential Models
I sometimes get contacted by various girls out on the Web, asking me how they themselves can be involved with Barefoot Georgia Peaches or foot modeling in general. It boils down to a few simple things really, but here’s the best advice I can give to any girl who wants to become a foot model for any platform:
- Know Your Target Audience There are various kinds of audiences out there for foot modeling, and they all vary from person-to-person. Study each of the audiences carefully, and make the best decision on what you want to aim for, based on your comfort zone
- Set Your Rules Like it or not, there will sometimes be a person who will throw a wrench into the works, challenging you to do something outside of your comfort zone whether it be to give you a personal challenge or them just to satisfy their wants. I may have rules here at Barefoot Georgia Peaches, but the more important rules are yours. I would suggest you stay within your comfort zone, and set the rules so that everyone, including other photographers who may collaborate with you, understand them fully
- Take Care of Your Feet This is very important. Feet that don’t look like they’re in good shape don’t make a good subject for the camera, so take care of them. Keep them clean, keep your nails pampered, sometimes rub a little lotion on them to keep them moisturized. Also, have your pedicure as fresh as possible (minimal cracks may be acceptable), because a worn-out pedi takes away from the beauty that many of us strive for in our work.
- Find the Right People to Work With One huge important thing to do in the field of foot modeling is to find the right people to work with. I do get occasional requests for models to be photographed, a lot of them are outside of Georgia where I reside and this showcase is based. As great a photographer as I am and much as I wouldn’t mind traveling, I have other commitments so I am restricted to certain cities within the state. For those who live outside of Georgia, I would suggest maybe looking up some photographers in your area, or enlist a trusted friend who can help you with what you want to do in this community.
- Don’t Be Greedy A lot of models actually get into the community to try and make a little extra money for whatever reason, and that’s all will and good. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from doing any foot modeling and I’m not trying to sound negative about this, but everyone has to realize that foot modeling is a not a get-rich-quick sort of thing. The important thing to do in this community is to be patient. Continue promoting yourself, work at your own pace, give things time.
- Be Yourself Don’t be a copycat, don’t be like other models, and don’t be someone you aren’t. When you and/or your feet are getting photographed, the most important thing to do is be yourself. You are who you are, don’t let anyone talk you into doing something you aren’t right doing. Just be yourself, and let your personality shine in the pictures.
