elves ended up ... being deer !! typically live in mystic groves but there's a subset of elves that thrive in colder more solitary environments
goldie is a /winged/ elf, a rare mutation introduced due to proximity to fairies that can result in more insectoid features. winged elves are more susceptible to certain health issues and are generally infantilised by other non-mutated elves [part of it directly tied to a lack of antlers, which have social importance]
goldie specifically has autoimmune issues and gets cold easier since her fur is so thin .. it's manageable but leaves her fatigued
