Staff may be able to help you with advice and such but do not expect them to be experts ESPECIALLY in a store with 50 different areas. I have reasonable knowledge of about 80% of the things we sell, how to use them, what you could replace with them if you're after something else, how to use them differently to accomodate what you're after, what goes with them, etc. But if I don't know the exact quantity you need of this item from an out-of-the-way department I get near no queries from, just appreciate that I'm being honest rather than trying to bullshit my way through and potentially wasting your money or forcing you to come back for more/something else/etc. Because that's what a lot of people do rather than getting yelled at/scolded/etc because you should know about EVERY item in your 12 section store and THIS store (which specialises in the one particular section you're being asking about) trains their staff to be able to help with ALL of this.
Staff are not your personal shoppers. They are not there to carry your shopping. They are not there show you to every single item on your shopping list individually. They are not there to pick out the exact shade that will match the top you're describing. If you do need help, sure, ask for it. But if they direct you to an aisle, listen to their directions and if you still can't find it then you can go back. But if I tell you it's "Just 2 aisles back, aisle 9 on the left hand side halfway down the aisle about this high *indicates with hand*" and you go 5 aisles back to aisle 4 and look on the right hand side near the wall I'm going to be pissed. And if I see you there, I'm going to assume you're looking at something else because you didn't follow any of my directions and if I point you in the right direction and you ARE looking at something else, chances are you're going to yell at me.
Does the price tag on the shelf match the barcode on the product (if the tag has a bar code)? If it's different (especially if the tag says 'hello kitty doll' and the product is 'super deluxe bbq tongs') it's wrong. And retailers are NOT required to give it to you at that price so don't ask.
