its hard for me, you know, because people on tumblr dot com are weird about people who ship zoro/nami with the undercurrent being "youre not interpreting them as validly queer enough if you ship them" and i have to sit here with the knowledge that my t4t kinky zoro/nami porn is STILL my most popular fanfiction.

i guess one thing i would like to see acknowledged more is that gender non-conforming folks, trans* folks, queer folks, nonbinary gendered peeps, &c. throughout history have, yes, been celebrated revolutionaries and/or spiritual leaders in their communities AND those same people were also complicated and catty and f*cked up and real. Like, those two things aren’t mutually exclusive--ACTUALLY, appreciating how impossible perfection is to achieve is inherent to holding compassion for others. Being chill with messiness and shame in yourself and humanity provides peak wisdom.
