#foraging fail

Most people learn which plants are toxic from foraging guides and not trial and error. My botany field biology prof Plant Chomper Georg who has a million stories of being hospitalized by unknowingly eating toxic plants in his childhood for fun is a statistical outlier and should not be counted.

my poor pine needles. i spent so much time harvesting and cleaning these after a storm took a huge pine branch down. i dried them and put them in a plastic shoe box, but apparently they still had some moisture in there because when i opened the box today, they were all moldy (i think.)

now i have to wait for another pine branch to fall, so i can replace them 😢

when you forage prickly pears for the first time and then you remember how much you dislike melon taste but you already juiced them and covered your house in urticating hairs dispute your best attempts :l

So, maybe I discovered that the chaste tree was in bloom

and maybe there were some awesome little peppercorn-shaped fruit on the tree

and maybe I took some and put them in my pocket for planting, a possible herbal remedy, and grinding some up for pepper.

and then maybe I forgot they were in my pocket, and maybe I changed my pants and maybe they are now all over my bedroom floor.
