i thought when getting a phalloplasty, the forearm was the best place to get skin, but i recently saw someone who i think took skin from their thigh? i would feel a lot more comfortable if i could take skin from there, since its less visible with clothes on, so im wondering what makes a good skin donor site?
there are a number of things to consider when picking a donor site, but some of the main ones are: appropriate blood flow (not everyone has the right blood vessels in the desired donor site), appropriate weight (some people are too thin to make a good forearm donor site, and some people are too heavy to make a good thigh site, even with lipo to the area prior), and sensation (while both are expected to have “full” sensation-sexual, touch, pain, and movement- forearm generally is said to have ‘better’ sensation than thigh owing to a higher concentration of nerves there. You can imagine what this means by seeing how sensitive your inner arm is versus your thigh is.)
