“Dad! I’m twenty one, not twelve, stop trying to control every aspect of my life!” Irene roared into her phone before ending the call, throwing herself onto the surface of her bed with a grunt. Generally, the young woman had a relatively close relationship with her father, but as her graduation date approached, he’d become very insistent on her following the career path he’d planned out. For the past six months, the man had been taking her to social gathering after social gathering - everything from meetings at sketchy night clubs to business parties in high class hotels. Socializing was not something that Irene was particularly good at, especially not when she had to drink with old men two to three times her age. She was mentally exhausted from the stress and physically ill from all the alcohol in her system. Even with the knowledge of his daughter’s deteriorating health, Mr. Bae had demanded that she attend his company’s banquet later that evening. Irene screamed into her pillow as she recalled the recent phone with her father, frustrated. She need to de-stress, the girl decided. So, she quickly changed into gym shorts and tank top, and gathered her oversized cardigan and other necessary belongings, before heading out to the door to the one place she relaxes the most: the dance studio at the gym.
"I think it’s about time we stop avoiding the obvious."
She bites her tongue to hold backher protests at his words – he sounds almost patronizing, and the fact that he’sso close she can feel him towering over her makes her struggle against the urgeto kick him in the shin. That would be very mature, Luanna, her mind fillsin, and she can feel her cheeks burn with shame, because, although she’s Firstto her Keeper, a member of the Inquisition and friends with the very queen ofFerelden, she’s such a baby. And it’sa baby’s decision to ignore the absolutely ridiculous way in which she reactswhen Minho is around, yet that’s precisely what she’s done so far, and what shewould be more than happy to continue doing. Unfortunate as it is, though, he’sforcing her to stop. She doesn’t want to. But she must.
“And what would you have me say, then?” She inquires, frustrationand pent up anger burning underneath the thin surface of her calm – she wishesshe could avoid this talk. What can she tell him? He’s been so close for solong that she feels warm when he’swith her, and sometimes she can’t help but wish he’d hold her longer when hehugs her, and more than once she’s questioned herself whether his lips wouldtaste as good as they look. But, in the same time, she wants him far, far away, because her mind keeps the memory of her former lover’s face bright and burningand close, and she hopes beyond hope that she’ll see Fenris again one day. “You’re nice to look at. So are millions ofother people, I reckon, but I suppose that, since you’re closer than they are,I do stare at you more than I would at them. I used to enjoy doing so insilence and unquestioned, but—I guess that’s not exactly an option anymore.”

"Everything hurts."
→ seulgi waited, expecting to hear an explanation. but there was nothing. only the faint hum of the static coming from her phone.
as the silence grew longer, her heart beat faster, her breathing grew shallow. something was wrong. something was terribly wrong. knuckles whitened as her grip around her phone tightened and she held the phone closer against her ear, listening for anything that would provide hints as to what was wrong.
"what the hell happened?" she was no longer able to stand his silence. "what's wrong? oh god, please, just tell me what's wrong," she pleaded, doing her best to mask the panic in her voice.
