Day by Day Livin' by Foreign Orange
I was pleasantly surprised by this snazzy debut album by Portland's Foreign Orange. I guess he got his start in Knoxville TN (home to the wonderful COOLRUNNINGS) before he teamed up Portland ressy Jeremy Sherrer.
The outcome has dashes of vintage psych-pop in the style of Conspiracy of Owls or The Explorers Club (complete with some rich harmonies), but often falls closer to disco soul. It sounds cool without coming across too serious. I would highly recommend this free download of Ghost Vibrations. I had to play it thru twice.
