‘Forest Dancer’ Brings Light, Creativity & Connection to Quoz Arts Festival in Dubai

This year’s Quoz Arts Festival in Dubai saw the jaw-dropping debut of Forest Dancer, the latest monumental creation by art and technology studio ENESS. The immersive installation featured a towering 9-metre-tall archway that transformed the façade of the impressive Concrete building, designed by OAM Architecture, into a vibrant portal. Soft, fleshy arches radiated outward, drawing visitors into a playful yet thoughtful reimagining of the sleek original architecture.

Okay so I'm editing my novel right now (Forest Dancer, if anyone remembers me talking about that earlier this year), and I've made a recent discovery: EDITING IS HARD SEND HELP PLEASE

A few years ago I remember reading something about novel editing that gave the advice to avoid any service which costs you a per-word fee.

Why? Let's take this service for example:http://www.lulu.com/services/editing/content-editor

Their charge is $0.044/word. Sounds pretty cheap, right?  My novel is approximately 81,636 words.  81,636 x 0.044 = 3591.98

I would be paying almost $3600 just for someone else to do what I can do myself.

So I decided to change the ending (somewhat) of my novel, and I've ended up adding over 11,000 words with still a bit more to go. I didn't think I'd get this much, but I'm glad I can at least make the ending better and more realistic. 

But then I've got to go through the entire story and change a lot of things. But hey, it's worth it.

Recently, I've come to the full realization that the novel I'm writing, Forest Dancer, had a very strange origination. The story is about control and fear, education, guilt, hope and a whole slew of other things. Simply put, it's a heavy story. 

I got the very first idea for it from watching Game Grumps play Trine 2 on YouTube. I loved the atmosphere and look of a giant forest and wanted to have a setting like that and voila, a novel began.

So I think I just finished the first draft of Forest Dancer.

I'm not sure though. I feel like it's not over yet, even though I know the story has it's end.

Wow. I've been working on this since September.

It's funny. When I first started Forest Dancer (unnamed at the time) I thought I would be in a huge hurry to finish it as I got closer to the end.

Now that I am close to the end, I realize how wrong I was. I don't want it to be over. I want this story to go on forever, even though I know it must have an end.
