I found out about this release while snooping in the VIP section at Joyful Noise Recordings. Yes, I bought my way into VIP status ($5 per month). This financial investment became worth it when I stumbled upon Forest Fallows. This Tuscon, Arizona based duo sound like they should be based in San Fransisco or take a time machine to the late 60s.
While they sound like they’ve been influenced by The Kinks (thus the 1960s time machine reference), they feel steeped in California Bay Area goodness: think Thumb of the Maid or Moore Brothers. Their sound reminds me of The Clientele (without all the reverb) or Chris Cohen.
