Forest Pooky - Dance With Me (Music video)
THE FOLK MACHINE est une collaboration de chanteurs folk créé autour de Forest Pooky. La première mouture avait pris ses marques aux USA au printemps 2015. Une tournée dans l’Ouest américain accompagnée d’un split album entre Forest Pooky, Yotam Ben Horin et Six Mile Station. Et comme on ne change pas une formule qui gagne cette première expérience européenne sera également accompagnée d’un album 6 titres avec 2 morceaux inédits de chaque protagoniste. THE FOLK MACHINE Tour deuxième du nom, sera également une première expérience européenne pour Seth Anderson (Canada) et Spike McGuire Music (USA) qui accompagneront Forest Pooky sur une tournée de 25 dates en France, Belgique, Allemagne et Suisse. De l’americana de Spike, au folk rock de Seth en passant par la fougue de Forest, The Folk Machine sera un moment intense à partager dans le public, comme il le sera sur scène.
FOREST POOKY (Folk Punk / Serrières (FR) - Kicking Records / Production 386 / Little Rocket Records) Clochard céleste, troubadour des temps modernes … les qualificatifs ne manquent pas pour parler de l’insatiable folkeux français. En tournée une bonne partie de l’année, il a quand même pris le temps de sortir en mars dernier un nouvel EP ”We’re Just Killing Time Before We Die” (Kicking Records / 2017)

SETH ANDERSON (High Energy Folk / Calgary (CA) - One Week Records / Little Rocket Records) Des racines Folk, Country et Punk Rock associées à des performances lives intenses et énergiques, c’est la formule qu’atrouvé Seth Anderson pour imposer son Folk Rock en Amérique du Nord. À tel point que Joey Cape l’a signé sur son label One Week Records pour sortir son 3e album ”Cityscapes”. Un album que Little Rocket Records va éditer en vinyl pour cette tournée européenne.

SPIKE McGUIRE (Americana Folk / Reno (USA) - DIY) Songwriter de talent et ex leader du groupe folk Six Mile Station, Spike McGuire puise aussi bien son inspiration dans la musique traditionnelle américaine que dans la folk rock d’ex punk rockeurs comme Chuck Ragan ou Kepi Ghoulie, 2 membres influents de la scène américaine avec qui il a tourné à de multiples reprises.

Both Peter Black and Forest Pooky took some time out from their hectic touring schedule to sit down with French videographer, David Basso. The results are two genuine and honest acoustic session from both artists, who originally came together with plans to hit the road and release a split 12". Now, 3 weeks in to the 7 week full EU adventure, having already hit France, Italy and Belgium, the pair are in full flow and ready to take on Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Netherlands and the UK.
'Europe Tour 2015' split release is a coming together of two of the finest, active, solo/acoustic musicians in the world - Peter 'Blackie' Black and Forest Pooky. Peter Black, hailing from Sydney Australia is best know as front man of The Hard Ons; Forest Pooky, from Lyon France is a modern day troubadour and one of Europe's hardest touring musicians.
Featuring 3 brand new tracks from each artist, 'Europe Tour 2015' will be available on Orange 12" vinyl and digital download on 4th September. The 12" vinyl comes with a download code and pre-orders with an exclusive, collectible t-shirt plus artwork by Peter Black with lyrics, notes and selfies on the insert sleeve.

Blackie and Forest will depart on a 7 week long European adventure in support of 'Europe Tour 2015' taking in France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Holland and the UK. Tour dates commence on August 28th and run through until October 18th, with the full run of dates TBA.
Commenting on tour Peter Black says "My 1st solo tour of Europe - I can't wait!" with Forest Pooky adding; “I’m stoked and honored to release a split with Peter Black.The Hard-Ons are quite the legends. Sharing tours with other musicians is the best way to learn. Sharing Blackie’s experience is something I’m looking forward too. It's taken a lot of time and effort, but in the end, the result will be so satisfying.”
Peter ‘Blackie' Black has been playing in the legendary Australian punk rock band, The Hard Ons, since 1982. Pushed and encouraged by his band mates, he decided to give the solo ride a try. Although acoustic, his work is no less twisted, melodic or surprising. The songwriting is unique and his familiar voice will, once again, charm you, as it did with his full band projects. Extra vocals on Blackie's track come courtesy of Nina Bellersheim and were recorded at Linear Recordings, Australia, by Wade Keighran and mixed and mastered by Chris Townend at White Light.
By contrast, Forest Pooky is a man that never stops. Originally hailing from Washington DC, Forest and his family relocated to France when they were young. Since the release of his album 'Every Keyhole Has An Eye To Be Seen Through' in September 2012, Forest has played over 450 shows worldwide. Wearing his heart on his sleeve, his brand of acoustic folk/punk - often accompanied on record with full band backing on previous offerings - is incredibly honest and true.
'Europe Tour 2015' sees Forest strip back to just him and his guitar in a very genuine manner. Undertaking his "Punk Rock Apprenticeship" as a member of The Pookies, a savage and rage filled punk/rock/hardcore trio. As anger was the driving force behind the band, The Pookies inevitably consumed themselves and combusted after just one album. Alongside his solo project, Forest is a member of pop punk trio, Sons of Buddha, with his brother Ed (UncommonMenFromMars/Not Scientists) and Pat (ISP). His tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered at NSR studio, la Garde Adhémar, France by Laurent Naffissi.
