“There are only a few exceptionally talented producers/composers that can honestly claim that they crafted a sound that served as the musical backdrop and/or soundtrack to a generation. I’m sure that many of you that follow me on here can easily list your Top 10 favorite producers that you feel crafted, shaped and molded the sound of an era, but there’s one musical genius in particular that many of you “so-called” music lovers seem to consistently overlook for some odd reason. 🤔 Lol! The musical genius that I’m referring to is Donald Earl DeGrate Jr. aka “DeVante Swing”. If some of my younger followers don’t know who this guy is, then please allow me to educate you real quick about one the most brilliant musical minds of MY generation. DeVante is “your favorite producer’s, favorite producer”. On top of the fact that he’s produced a number of hits for his group Jodeci... He’s also produced for @usher, 2Pac, @therealmaryjblige @rkelly and many other legendary performers. Let’s also not forget to mention this fact as well.. There wouldn’t be a @timbaland, @missymisdemeanorelliott, @hitmansteviej_1 @ho1brown or ginuwine if it wasn’t for THIS guy recognizing their talents first and giving them a legitimate platform to hone, develop and eventually showcase their talents which have propelled them into the stratosphere and helped to make them into the iconic figures that they are within the world of music today. I know my caption was somewhat long-winded, but I wanted to take a moment to pay homage to this guy because he’s truly deserving of the recognition as one the GREAT producers of R&B/Pop music.
