He would’ve thought that the crowds moving chaotically through the streets would at least look out for children. Ludger didn’t expect any of them to be particularly charitable, leading lost minors to help centers or anything. But at the very least, check when a lone child was wandering about cluelessly in a street full of who knows what.
“Hey, are you alright?” he asked, dropping the shopping beside him and crouching to examine the child lost among the adults. Offering the kindest smile he could manage, and ignoring his mind commenting on how much Elle would berate him for coming off as some kidnapper, the former agent looked up around them both curiously. “Were you here with someone? I can help you find them if you want.”
