It was the middle of the night and you could hear the apartment doors open from your bedroom. You eyes quickly opened and turned on the lamp on your bedside. Your body ached, wanting for you to go back to bed. You read the time: 3:57AM. It was late. You cleared your throat as you called out his name. He answered back with a loud ‘mhm’ as you can hear him tugging his luggage into the bedroom. He switched on the bedroom lights and placed his things into the corner of the room.
“How was it?” You asked, sitting up and wrapping the blankets around your body.
“There’s dinner in the fridge if you’re hungry. I’ll just talk to you later after you get some rest.”
“Alrighty then. Good night Taehyung.” You said, before laying back into bed. You tried your damn hardest to not let Taehyung hear you cry.
You two were constantly angry at each and it was tearing you apart. You tried to understand what Taehyung was feeling, but for the first time, he wasn’t letting you in. He was frustrated, tired and angry all at the same time. He usually talks about his emotions with you, but when he gets stressed like this… It was like he was someone different.
“You know what Taehyung, just leave. If you’re gonna be an ass for the whole time, I don’t want to see your face!” You yelled.
“Whatever, I don’t need you right now.” He barked back as he grabbed his things and left.
You didn’t see or talk to Taehyung for days after that. It never was this bad. You went back into the apartment since you knew that he was leaving tomorrow morning so, you decided to at least pack your favourite shirt on him and some vitamins for the changing weather and the jet lag into his suitcase. He wasn’t home (not a surprise). It was late already and you stopped waiting for him to come home since it always ended up with the two of you fighting. Something clicked and you were done. You started to pack some of your things into a suitcase and asked if one of your friends could pick you up. You didn’t want to be in the apartment, not when you were so conflicted with how things are between the two of you.
You woke up and you were reminded that you weren’t at the apartment. You were at your friend’s house. Your eyes automatically went to look for a clock, it was only seven o’clock… His flight wasn’t until eight. You grabbed for your phone and texted him, ‘Take care.’ At least you wanted to let him know that you were still thinking about him. You saw that he read it, but he didn’t reply.
“I guess, we’re doing this then.” You whispered to yourself.
Taehyung has been trying to get a hold of you. Nothing but voicemails, dial tones and read messages. He knew he screwed up. He took advantage of you. Why did he let it get that bad, so bad that he let the girl he love walk away from him when he needed her the most?
“Mailbox is full.” The automated voice spoke.
“Damn it!” He cursed out and threw his phone onto the couch out of frustration.
He took a deep breath in and breathed out.
“What’s wrong?” His best friend Jimin asked, placing his hand on Taehyung’s shoulder.
“It’s Y/N… She’s not replying to me and I just need to talk to her. I messed up, Jimin.” He said, slumping down into a nearby chair.
Jimin slowly sat down beside him, slinging his arm around Taehyung’s shoulder.
“We’re going home tomorrow, when you see her tomorrow because I know you will, tell her how you feel.” He softly spoke.
“I really hurt her… I don’t know if she will talk to me.” Taehyung said with a sigh.
“Fight for her, if you really believe that. If you really love her and you really want to be with her, fight.” Jimin replied before standing up and leaving Taehyung.
Taehyung let his head hit the wall, looking up into the fluorescent lights. He let his eyelids close and drowned out the noise.
After coming back home from the tour, he didn’t want to go to the dorm. He asked if he could go home… He knew that you wouldn’t be at the apartment, going there now would break his heart a little more. Taehyung knew that it was time to find you. It was time to fight.
You were making your way back home from your nightly walk. You could see the sun setting, changing the sky into beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow. In the distance, you can hear
A big, white fluffball attacked you. You couldn’t see what it was, you could just hear “Soonshim, no! Soonshim!” It knocked you out causing you fall backwards onto the ground. You opened your eyes and looked around you, you were laying on the ground.
“I guess it’s your fault…” You said as you looked down to your feet, the fluffball was a dog. It look so innocent even after it knocked you down. The dog let out a loud bark and you slowly sat up, looking at this dog eye level. It was smiling. You let out a small smile before let the dog smell your hand. The dog started to lick your hand before beginning to pet its’ head.
“Soonshim! Where are you?” A deep voice can be heard in the distance.
The dog barked one more time as you finally got up. You dusted yourself off and looked around. That name. You knew whose dog this was.
You noticed that Soonshim had a leash, you quickly grabbed hold of the leash and tugged a little.
“Hey Soonshim? Should we try to meet your owner halfway?” You asked the fluffball.
Still smiling, the dog barked and started to sprint.
“Oh wait, no!” You yelled out as you began to be pulled by Soonshim.
“Soonshim!” The deep voice called out again, but this time, it was louder. The voice started to get louder and louder until Soonshim halted into a stop.
You were out of breath. How in the world did this dog have so much energy?
“Soonshim! You found me, you’re a good girl.” The deep voice praised the pup, he bent down and ruffled the fur on her head.
“She has a lot… She has a lot of energy today. “ You tried to make out over your quick breaths.
“She does, she was so excited to go for a walk today. After I clipped on her leash, she went running.” He spoke as he straightened himself up. He looked at you and his eyes widened.
“Taehyung?” You spoke softly as you continued on, “It’s… It’s been awhile.”
“... It has.” He spoke, rubbing the back of his neck.
“I guess Soonshim missed you.” He said, letting out a giggle.
“I guess so. Ummm… You probably want to take her for a walk then, I shouldn’t get in the way.” You quickly spoke.
“I-” He began to speak before you cut him off.
“I’ll see you around, Taehyung.” You gave him a smile before beginning to walk.
Before Taehyung could grab her leash, she began to take off towards you again.
“Y/N! Watch out!” Taehyung warned you, trying to catch up to Soonshim.
She looped around you, causing you to stumble. Taehyung quickly caught up and pulled you by your hand. He pulled a little hard as your body crashes into his.
“Oof.” You said, as your head hits his chest.
“Sorry, I didn’t want you to fall for me again…” He joked.
You looked up and you can see that rectangle smile again. Your heart skipped a beat. You cleared your throat. It was awkward. You haven’t talked to Taehyung since he got home from his schedules abroad.
“Let’s just make sure Soonshim is tightly gripped by you or we might have to look for her the whole night.” You reminded him.
Taehyung slid her leash into his wrist as he intertwined his fingers into yours.
You looked down to your fingers. The familiar butterfly feelings are back. You hated that Taehyung could do something so simple and make you feel like this.
“Y/N, I’m sorry…” His voice interrupted your thoughts.
You looked up at him and you pulled him to a stop. You let out a sigh. This was the moment. You needed to tell him everything you were feeling.
“I’m sorry Taehyung, I didn’t mean what I said to you. I was just frustrated and I missed you. I was just feeling so many things and-” You were talking before he cuts you off.
He pulls you into a passionate kiss, you let your arms wrap around his slender neck as his fingers interlock around your waist. As he pulled away, he lets his forehead on yours, looking deeply into your eyes.
“I’ve missed you.” Those words echoed through your head and you couldn’t help smile.
“I love you Taehyung.” You confessed.
That rectangle smile, you never knew how much you missed him until now.
“I love you too.” He whispers, kissing you on your temple.
He grabs onto your hands as the three of you walk through the night, talking and living the night away.
