The theme for Issue 13 has been announced!
The theme for Issue 13 will be DUALITY. Submissions for Issue 13 will be accepted from today until September 1st. Everyone has one month to create and submit photographs, illustrations, etc… Make sure your submission relates to the theme, and follows the guidelines on our submission page. Issue 13 will be released in October, the same day submitting to Issue 14 will begin.
If you’ve already sent us work, feel free to resend it, or send in work that you feel more closely relates to the theme. Remember, we’d prefer if the work was produced specifically for the issue, but if you do have older work that you feel relates to DUALITY it will still be considered.
You can also go read Issue 12: PATIENCE online now!
GOOD LUCK!
Hey! I am featured in the new issue of FORGE. magazine. There’s new art + an interview with me. Really happy to be a part of this.
Read it here.
This weekend FORGE. is back in New York for this year's Brooklyn Zine Fest! Since we're in town before the festival we're doing a couple of interviews with some of our favorite local artists. Yesterday we met up with typographer, illustrator, and graphic designer, Ray Masaki at his apartment in Harlem. Ray showed us some of his biggest inspirations, a few typefaces he's working on, and even told us the stories behind his Tattoos. The interview will be released as text in Issue 4 of FORGE. and as a video in the next couple of months. You can find Ray's work at... http://www.raymasaki.com/ http://blog.raymasaki.com/
Yesterday FORGE. met up with illustrator Courtney Wirth in her home studio, as a part of our New York interviews this week. Courtney gave us a look inside some of her new projects and some of the books that have impacted her since childhood.
The interview with Courtney will be included as text in Issue 3, and as a video (including several cameos with her affectionate cat Pi) on the site in the next couple of months.
