Fair enough. I wasn't trying to be critical or put you down and I apologise if it comes across that way. I guess I believe that two wrongs don't make a right. But I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I get angry too you know. But I do my best to make my contribution to this movement as professional, intelligent and calmly as possible. I like to listen as well as make my statement. This doesn't make me any less angry or righteous. But thanks I guess?

You know what, I actually genuinely appreciated your message. I think what’s unnecessary, though, is trying to tell people who you don’t even know how to think/feel/act, ‘cause that’s totally prescriptive, myopic, and presumptuous. Everyone’s life experiences, everyone’s politics, everyone’s approaches to addressing and problematizing and resolving issues are different. I’ve tried to “listen,” I’ve tried to be diplomatic, but that shit only goes so far for me. I don’t have the time or the energy to worry about pleasing people. I have enemies, and I’m cool with that. I’m not here to sugarcoat anything.

Just because your "white friends" are ok with your actions does not mean that everybody will be. We are new here to Tumblr and I really like a lot of your blog! But you have to remember that your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behaviour does and maybe a lot of your behaviour does offend others. Offending others isn't going to do anything but start pointless hard headed arguments. Just trying to give you a different perspective.

I never said that my politics were going to please everyone, I never said that my beliefs make me a better person. Everything I write is personal, I’m not here to preach to anyone, to save anyone, or, believe it or not, to offend anyone. At the same time, however, I’m not here to refrain from making people uncomfortable. This is my blog and I will talk about the bullshit my friends and I have encountered in any damn way I please because I have a lot to say about it, because catering to inhumane people isn’t a part of my politics, because placating abusive men isn’t a part of my politics, because kissing the asses of oppressive losers isn’t a part of my politics. Thank you nonetheless for your thoughtful and critical message.
