I’ve opened my submissions for minor character appreciation posts! If you click on the button you’ll see the guidelines, but I’ll put them here as well.
This is a place for you to talk about and share your appreciation for characters that don’t get enough love from the fandom! It’s hard having a favorite that everyone forgets about, so this will be your platform to talk about them as much as you want!
Who qualifies as a minor character?
For the purposes of this blog, a minor character will be:
- Any character that you feel doesn’t get enough love in a particular fandom and/or a character that gets forgotten about. For example, even though Shinsou Hitoshi from My Hero Academia isn’t a main character, he gets enough fandom love (mine included) and content to the point where I don’t feel he’d qualify.
- However, characters can never be TOO minor! If your character only appeared in one frame in one scene in one episode or panel of something, then that’s fine, they’re welcome!
- There is an exception where your character CAN be main character, if the work they are from is relatively unknown and/or has a small or inactive fanbase. Loving major characters from a forgotten franchise can be just as hard as a minor character from a well known one!
What type of media can our minor characters come from?
-All media formats are welcome! Cartoons, anime, movies, video games, comics, books, music videos, newspaper strips, etc.
What types of posts are welcome?
- You can write as little or as much as you want about your character, possibly explaining who they are and your reasons for loving them. You can include pictures and videos if you’d like!
- If you see that someone has already submitted a character that you wanted to submit, don’t worry! Feel free to still send in your submission. Your perspective or reasons for loving the character may be entirely different, and you can express that.
- On this blog, I tag posts that contain swearing with the tag #swearing. I’d ask that you please tag your posts this way if they contain swears, thank you!
