kghn? as in kagehina? what's going on? i guess i haven't checked anything lately, but has something bad been going on with that ship? wanna stay as educated as i can

nah nothings going on in the fandom its just something i and many others have observed abt how the fandom handles characters and shipping, especially kghn

kghn is represented as very abusive and manipulative in the fandom but passed off as “cutesy” or “romantic” and its sickening tbh

common tropes are intense jealousy to the point of cutting the other off from friends, manipulative behaviour to get the other to like or stay with them, and severe co-dependency

thats just the fandom interpretation tho, and its mostly kage acting extremely ooc and abusive and kage is my absolute favourite and it REALLY bothers me to see him interpreted this way especially when there is NO basis in canon for any of his actions

he doesnt display jealous tendencies hes actually pretty spacey and awkward and participates in the background with things tanaka noya and hinata do. Why would he ever try to isolate hinata??

and tbh the fandom makes it worse when making hinata this sunshiney child that can do no wrong when in canon he can be pretty cruel too

in canon they both insult each other and can get physically violent and its played off for laughs which is

idk its fine i guess its lighthearted and an anime it bothers me but i try not to pay much attention to it

but it really bothers me when the fandom takes that a step further and continues to say things like “its okay because they love each other” when its NOT okay

its never okay to insult or physically hurt someone you love

and tho kage (in canon) does insult and hurt hinata hes also extremely socially inept and particularly after observing iwai and how he treats HIS best friend in middle school, probably thinks this is how friend act

but hinata on the other hand in canon commonly insults kage in ways that bother me a lot, like commenting on how “scary” he looks or making fun of the fact that animals dont like him (something we know is already his biggest concern)

little things like that are not okay and the ship in general bothers me but the fandom interpretation is 100x worse

i have literally read fics where hinata has said the same things my abuser has said to me and its passed off as romantic and its creepy as HELL and really disturbing and its NOT ROMANTIC ITS NOT CUTE

honestly id keep going on about how this ship is gross and how the fandom interprets it is even grosser but i’m not great at talking about stuff like this unless in conversation

it bothers me more when people look at other ships that people like and scream abuse (then proceed to do nasty things to people that ship them) when they dont display HALF as much abusive fics or tendencies in canon than kghn and then turn around and see the canon fight between them and call it a “lover’s quarrel” when it was Bad and they didnt even talk it out or properly resolve it

anyways if anyone wants to have a discussion or add on feel free im REALLY sorry if this ends up in any of the tags cause of keywords thats not my intention at all

the ship just really bothers me and i cant stand to see it but the majority of the fandom loves it and im Suffering
