When Garry had been separated from Ib, she had been afraid. Of course she had. As time went on in the strange gallery, she’d almost forgotten what it had been like to be on her own. Garry considered himself unreliable - but he’d always been by her side, cheering her up and encouraging her; and protecting her with all his might. So when all of a sudden, they were forcibly torn apart...
She’d been scared. ...But at the same time, she was with Mary. Just like Garry, Mary had been there to cheer her up and encourage her. Even though Ib didn’t know her as well as she’d known Garry, it was a relief to have her by her side; and her infectiously cheery attitude had made Ib feel more at ease - if only a tiny bit.
...But Mary was a painting. And now, even though nothing had changed, Mary was coming to kill them...
Shivering, Ib grips Garry’s hand a little harder. Then, looking up at him with that intent gaze of hers, she peers into his eyes - trying to figure out if he’s really okay, or if he’s just trying to make her feel better.
“...Okay. ...But, are you sure you’re okay?” the girl asks. She wants to believe Garry, but she can’t help but be afraid. When she’d found Garry in the room full of bunnies - somehow, that’d been scarier than anything that had happened to her until now. Because he didn’t even recognise her... and in that moment, she truly, truly thought that he might have been- gone.
...And- now he’s even saying that he doesn’t know what happened to him...
