💉 #forjudeforeveryone #flushot #vaccineswork . I am so proud of myself. I got my flu shot today (like I do every year). The pandemic makes everything more difficult ... but I am grateful to @londondrugs (Sage Hill) for making everything so easy and safe. I'm glad that I got it done. . After, I went for a quick walk. The storm water pond is already frozen over, but the warm winds have melted most of the ground snow. The sun still feels warm on my skin and the wind isn't bitter yet. One of the neighborhood homes still has their "welcome spring" sign up in their garden 😊. I wish we were on the tail end of winter again and not just going in. I'm not looking forward to the cold, dark winter months ahead. For now, I'll take these warm, snow melting Chinook afternoons ... and do whatever I can to keep everyone safe this winter. #getyourflushot ________ "We cannot live only for ourselves. A flu shot. No one likes them. No one thinks of them longingly, impatiently waiting for the next year to roll around, for another 'flu season' to commence'. They suck. They feel like a pinch, they take time out of your day, sometimes your arm is sore for a while after. But for my dear friend who lost her toddler last year to Influenza, each person who gets a shot is that much less of a chance that someone else will get sick, or even potentially die. So, I get my flu shot for Tommy who is just a month younger than Jude. And I get my shot for Emma, who is the same age as Jude's vivacious sister. And I get my shot for Jill who has to continue on without her little Lion. And I get my shot for Craig, and for every other family that has ever lost someone to influenza.
