ITS ON STEAM????????? omggggg.... tempted to buy it even tho i already have the mobile game version (why was there a mobile game version by the way) like i loveeeee this game it was my first metroidvania ever and it's so fun
a fun thing about forma.8 is that after you unlock speed boost you can ram into bad guys so hard they straight up die on impact
sorry for all the formaposting but i thought i’d make a serious post about it in case anyone is actually curious!
forma.8 is a side-scrolling metroidvania-type game. you play as this little ball with glowing eyes; it is an explorer sent to an alien planet for unknown reasons. there were seven other balls sent with it, but as far as we know only this one survived.
over the course of the game, the ball gains several abilities: it can create a burst shield, shoot projectile bombs, use a speed boost, teleport, and disguise itself as an enemy. it uses these mechanisms to fight off the enemies: buglike creatures that REALLY want to kill it. there are many kinds of these and they are found in almost every area, so if you’re afraid of bugs i’d skip this one. (don’t be like me and play it anyway!!!)
besides the abilities, your only tools are a map and whichever collectibles you find along the way. you will explore a huge and beautiful world, fight at least one boss per realm, and occasionally complete puzzles. it’s honestly one of my favourite games. i got hours out of it the first time and it’s also FREE.
