#formatting questions

Please help me I am so bad with technology (yes I'm twenty three and am so so bad with technology)

I'm trying to play around with ao3s 'new work' page to get the hang of it, but when I copy and paste Chap 1 into the box, it doesn't keep the formatting at all. I've tried googling, It didn't help ( it could also be my fault, lol).

How do I copy and paste my work I to that box while keeping all my italics and such?! It's over 30k words at this point, and I don't want to do it manually 😳

For context, I'm using a Samsung phone for this, I don't have a laptop. I do have a tablet if that is better. It's also a Samsung. And I've been writing on Google docs (mobile)

Also- follow up question for later: how do I post multiple chapters into one work?

Dear Ao3 users:

Say you were writing a bunch of things based on a list of prompts.  Would you make it a series, or one work with many chapters?

(or: which would you rather read?)

(does one style get more hits than the other?)

The only real difference that occurs to me is that, should the resulting compositions have different ratings/etc, making it a series would allow each bit to be tagged most appropriately.

...but having it all as one long work appeals more than writing two dozen very short things.

mmkay, so I’ve encountered a problem with my tumblr blog layout, having to do with my tags.

instead of my pages for specific tagged things (like my recs or personal posts) listing just those specific tags, they’re also listing any posts that happen to include that tag within a larger tag (i.e. ‘I don’t know them personally but I’m sure they’re wonderful’ in my ‘personal’ tag) or if the word comes up in the text of the post somehow.

is there any way to stop this? or do I just need to filter through my posts and tag things better?

Does anyone know why the display for the Big-Ass Menage-a-Quatre Panlix meta is so wonky? 

Like, the original reply to the question is under a lot of the newer stuff. 

I'd like it if it were streamline because holy shit, amazingly long and awesome Panlix meta with some of my favorite people. 

I just want it to look nice. 

Anybody know if there's a way to fix it?

Questions about format

Do you guys prefer to have "mun-talk" in square brackets ([ ]), or 2 backslashes (//) or...?

And how about muse replies? Should Obito reply in past or present tense? I plan to RP long scenes in past tense, but I personally think I prefer present tense for anon replies, etc.

I'd appreciate your input!
