When it all came down to it, Laura would do anything to save her family. Anything. That was how she had justified supporting Chris returning to the past. That was how she'd allowed herself to become co-leader of the Resistance.
And that was how the Clairvoyant had gotten her off the Bus to do their bidding.
It all seemed so normal at first- Skye and Fitz arguing over something trivial, Ward and Coulson and May talking about some new assignment or whatever. She'd been content, curled up in a chair with tea and her book when her phone went off. The number was unrecognizable, but it wouldn't be the first time she was getting a call from a burner phone- on some missions, it was necessary to use those.
This call, though, was completely different. Cool, detached, the voice threatened to take the lives of everyone on the Bus if Laura didn't do exactly as she was told.
So the next time they landed, she packed a bag and ran.
That had been six weeks ago. She'd done horrible things (luckily she hadn't had to kill anyone yet), but it was only a matter of time before SHIELD found her.
She just hoped it was sooner rather than later.
