THE MYSTIC POWER OF NUMBERS
Numbers have made huge contributions to spirituality and philosophy. For those of us in the West Pythagoras popularized the idea that numbers are much more than mathematical symbols. Pythagoras believed numbers also held a spiritual significance. We see this reflected where he is quoted-
“Number is the ruler of forms and ideas and the cause of gods and daemons.”
-Numbers have always held a spiritual significance to them. Western numerology was born of this idea and various meanings have been ascribed to numbers ever since. Factor in the rich history the Chinese have with numerology and it would seem to give credence to the idea, in my opinion. Any time a concept pops up on opposite ends of the globe and lands at the same conclusion clearly there is something at work.
From the Hebrew Triad to the Tetraktys; the golden pi ration and the famous fibonacci sequence, numbers have played an important role in our conscious development. Anyone who is ardently seeking to find a deeper meaning to life would do well to develop a healthy respect for science and mathematics as well. The new physics has taken huge leaps and bounds towards proving the existence of God. All that work, is grounded in numbers.
