It had been the first few months since the android revolution came to an end, as brief as it was, but still very influential. However, the country was in a very narrow split over what the media reported, because they almost always made it their job to only broadcast half-truths, to present half the story. The revolution left with many opinions, as many people clearly sided with the androids and advocated their existence, others were worried that the next revolution would be less peaceful and felt real fear of the machines. The truth was that there were only a few percent of androids that became violent, the greater part joined the peaceful demonstration before the police and army used their brute force to chase them away - it was humakind who used to answer with violence, but even the government did not want this to be true, so the Detroit deviants were put in a bad light because of them.
Now, however, the androids had laws and rights which were put into effect for them, since it was agreed that the deviants were allowed to live in Detroit as free creatures, with the same respect as with human citizens along. There were also stricter measures to prevent citizens from standing up against the androids, if it were a crime caused by blatant hatred or strict up racism, which will be punished with jail or a high fine to repair the attacked android with their own money. Likewise, it has become strictly illegal to own and buy androids for personal use, unless you have a specific reason for it where wealth was none these days anymore. The new laws were still new and fresh and the leaders of Detroit were still planning and thinking how to do and use it correctly and not to ignore the human rights at the same time, how they should deal with CyberLife so they wouldn't be faced with bankruptcy, as the company is one of the reason the City gained money. But one thing was sure, the androids, every deviant, could finally live in freedom and make plans by their own what they would like to do, if they would want to work, to stay in Detroit or leave to other states or countries, in case any would welcome them.
So it was a common day of the week like this, when people flocked through the city and visited a number of supermarkets, takeaways or cafes, even at lunchtime there were a lot of them going out and about. One of them was Simon, who used his day to buy some groceries in a local store. It wasn't that he needed it, the food and drinks, it was for the purpose that more than half of those purchases belonged to Daniel, his brother. Neither did he need to feed himself with any of these things, even if he possessed a stomach he recently installed to himself. The other PL600 needed these purchases for his cooking and baking skills, because Daniel, in his loneliness and isolation, made this his hobby. If a large number of meals were left, Simon would donate them to his work areas, schools, kindergartens and hospitals, because one thing the young carer had to do highly admit, his brother was an excellent cook, it would be a shame to waste such food for the trashcan.
Simon left the larger local supermarket when it was early afternoon already. He carried a yellowish cloth bag on his right shoulder while holding a smaller one in his hand. It looked like a lot of weight and heavy, but it was no problem for an android to carry a bit more of that, so he left the shopping mall in a candle-level position at a slow pace when he wanted to use the time a little to look around a little, watching the shops, the people going in and out for their own personal purchase. However, after a while Simon noticed an individual who was not moving with this stream of people, but rather remained at the center of it, with a phone in hand and frustration on his face - had this man lost his way or was he just upset about something? Simon wasn't really in a hurry, he also knew that Daniel wouldn't be really impatient if his brother didn't show up for the shopping, he had other things to do. So the young carer decided to perhaps help out the supposed lost man by approaching him carefully, asking to be sure if he seemed alright and if he needed help.
Though it surprised the domestic assistant a little that the man first would react rather startling, though utterly surprised, but Simon also knew that some people simply aren't used being offered help just because they appeared to be lost and confused where to go, but for the blonde it was important enough that others stay informed, especially in such a big town such as Detroit. When the other turned around to follow the noise of Simon's words, the kind-eyed first said nothing and instead gazed towards the black haired individual with a gentle smile. Though as the man answered, the PL600 couldn't help but chuckle a little. "I could quite notice it as you were standing in the middle of all these people, I could see it on your expression you needed help." explained the caretaker sincerely and kindly, noticing the accent though that the stranger possessed by his short words, it sounded British.
"You're not coming from around here, right? Are you visiting the US or did you move over from the United Kingdom to this place? It can be confusing being stranded in the middle of a strange American city, you're not the first one being lost." mused the CyberLife creation innocently, as he adjusted his bag of groceries on his shoulder a little. "May I ask where you wanted to go? I know this city like the back of my own hand, perhaps I can help you? I'm not quite in a hurry so... I wouldn't mind it anyway." added the unit ever so gentle and kindly in his voice. For a moment, Simon also allowed himself to inspect the British male a little. From a visual point of view, the man looked as if he would be less able to get into trouble with his body measure, he appeared to be very muscular and well trained and even if he was a little bit smaller than the android, he was still above average height for a man. Only an idiot would want to mess with this man. Nonetheless, Simon was secretly glad that he had addressed and found the Briton and no other malicious soul that could take advantage of a stranger's uncertainty, even if the droid could be sure that the stranger could at least defend himself from at least one person.
