Amanda Palmer ’98 performed live at Wesleyan’s Humanity Festival, a one-day musical celebration in solidarity against bigotry, racism and social divisions within a community. The student-run event was held on Foss Hill on April 13.
Palmer, a singer/songwriter in Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra, and the musical duo The Dresden Dolls, played ukulele at the Humanities Festival. The festival encouraged dialogue about—and action against—existing class, racial, and social rifts that exist within a community.
Between musical sets, the stage opened up as a Soap Box, allowing Wesleyan students and local community members to speak about what was on their mind. (Photos by Gabe Rosenberg ’16.)
