shhhh he's sleeping.
Almost midnight and 4 of 5 kittens are accounted for
The black one managed to disappear
I’m now sitting quietly on the stairs hoping he’ll lonely and come out or I will hear him
None of them are scared of us so it’s not like he’s purposefully hiding from us
Also my brother is watching old episodes of the twilight zone in his room and that is not helping the ambience of sitting on dark stairs watching for a dark smudge in the corner of my eye
I got out of the shower this morning to kittens crying for food. They somehow made it up the stairs
I don’t recommend 4 foster kittens at once (plus my sister’s bottle baby coming over later)

”They sound like such a handful!!
They are today. We’ve also had my sister’s little kitten too and that’s the one that’s causing the most problems since its so little.
Good morning I was awoken to a crying kitten who, after crying off and on for an hour, peed all over me
Which is a good sign overall but also not how I wanted to start the day
Because apparently he can’t drink water without ice, my brother went downstairs at 6am and alerted the babies that someone capable of proving food was awake. So they started crying at the top of their lungs enough to wake me. So I fed them and learned that they have figured out how to climb out of the cage despite the sheet we have binder clipped over the top of the cage. I either need a lot more binder clips or the sheet is now useless. Never mind the tiniest baby can literally slip through the bars because she’s so smol.
came home tonight and my sister and the kids were over. she had found a newborn kitten out in the woods behind her house and had brought it to mom for evaluation. we’re not sure if it was abandoned by its mother for a reason or by accident. But it ate when it was fed so we sent them home with kitten formula.
Apparently their cat, Ginger, who never met another animal she liked, did start grooming it a bit. I think they might have a second cat now.
the kittens can’t eat without stepping into their food bowls so its just food all over the place here
