Vichy Teint Ideal Illuminating Foundation ... not a fan!
Oh how I wanted to love this! So much. *sad face* I tried the powder and the creme. My skin right now is dry.
This is not necessarily cheap, but it is available at the drugstore and I picked it up on sale. So I’ve included it here. I don’t think $30 CAD is necessarily otherworldly expensive for a foundation.
The reviews on this were glowing! Thus I was hoping it would be glowing too. It’s actually a beautiful skin finish! IF it works for your skin that is. Both formulations. But some way, somehow, this moisturising / hydrating foundation emphatically enhances my dry spots. Yikes! If it weren't for that, this would be amazeballs. As the finish is quite nice otherwise. It’s an IRL photoshop type finish; soft and blurred. (As the photo shows, that is not photoshopped!). It’s not cake face and looks very natural. I’m hesitant to take it back, I want to love it! But ... those icky cakey looking dry spots on my nose, chin, and forehead ... :( (I can’t get a good close up of that with my decent-good-but-not-dslr camera).
And on top of that, the powder feels awful on my skin. I guess I might be having a reaction to it. Boo! That’s new. (No sensitive skin here!). It’s itchy and it some how even manages to make my eyes water. Wow. A soft application of it (either stippled or feathered on) breaks up the foundation underneath like crazy, and looks something awful. Applied on its own, it’s patchy on my dry spots, where it clings and barely covers.
Ugh ... Maybe I just have some weird ass skin, because this is a big fail for me. Yet I haven't seen a bad review of it. I am quite disappointed, and was a little mad at how awful my skin looked today because of it.
