This collection of photos were taken at the Water Temple and Filoli Gardens. I decided to focus on the textures of nature. I used Lightroom to edit these photographs. The main reason why I wanted to edit the photos was to have the colors be more pronounced. This was the first project that I was able to use Lightroom since all the other cameras used film.

Over the course of this semester I changed from a Holga to a Hasselblad, and then a Hasselblad to a digital SLR camera. There were many unique challenges for each camera. With the Holga you had to guess where to adjust the focus since there was no computer that automatically focused the camera for you. With the Hasselblad you had to take a light reading so you know how to adjust the camera, and when you dialed in the wrong settings your image would come out completely messed up.  The digital SLR camera doesn’t have very many challenges except sometimes when you have to change the focus from auto to manual.

At this morning’s Annual Meeting, EdTA awarded the Founder’s Award to Lynn Tuttle and the President’s Award to Matt Conover.

Congratulations to our two award winners!

Two awards were handed out at this morning’s Annual Meeting.

The Educational Theatre Association’s President’s Award is presented to an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the Association, EdTA President, board of directors, or volunteer leadership of EdTA. This year’s award went to Matt Conover who told the room that being a Thespian made him who is today and he has loved giving back to the organization.

The Educational Theatre Association’s Founders’ Award is presented to an individual or group who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of theatre education, research and practice. The award recognizes work that supports the principles and mission of the founders to promote and strengthen theatre education.

This year’s award went to Lynn Tuttle. Both a music educator and a theatre educator, Lynn shared with the group that she felt that theatre teachers were great models of empathy and she has loved being part of the theatre education community.

Congratulations Matt and Lynn!!
