the hive’s library was probably one of the most quite places you’d find. With the worker bees always bustling about or the larva learning to fly. With all that buzzing, laughing, and talking. It almost seems too much, that is for an outsider. If you’ve lived with such noise all your life wouldn’t you grow accustomed to it? The royal’s guard did. She hated the library, it was too quiet, too empty, too spacious. She wasn’t used to such.. nothingness. It was as if the entire world she lived in, the loud and unexpected world, disappeared as soon as she stepped through those doors. Of course she’d never come here by choice. The way the librarian would stare at her as her wings buzzed, or claws tapping the table. It was obnoxious, but not to her. The guard bee needed that noise. To fill the empty void that was the library. The guard stopped in and her antennae immediately stiffened. The fur on her chest bristled as the doors shut. Muffling any noise of comfort. The smaller bee ahead of her seemed to enjoy this. Their wings relaxed and their arms began to search the shelves for a new book. The gaur rolled her eyes, Four, their last royal bee. Was a book worm. She quickly sat down at a table and awaited the royal bee. Four returned with a stack of books and their guard gritted their teeth. “Why so many..? There is simply not enough hours in the day for you to read all of them, your highness.” The guard muttered, her cold and bitter voice softened as she saw the look of excitement. The royal nodded and opened the book to start reading. The hair sat there and stared off into space, her mind wondering to the royals family and how it came to be just… four. She had to cut them some slack, they lost their mother and now has to replace them. While dealing grief, not all the hive respects them or their way of life. It made her fur bristled to think of all the haters in this once loving and supporting hive. The sound of honey dripping from the ceiling caught bother the librarian and the guard’s attention. The librarian huffed and flew over and the guard smiled. She stood up and grabbed a small pillow from the couch on the side of the bookcases, silently she stared four until she beat the royal with the pillow. Four gasped and leapt from their chair. Their four wings buzzed as they have a mischievous grin. Throwing the books at her, she gasped and hit them away with the pillow before leaping into the air to tackle four to the ground. She smiled and rolled over to four was beneath her (🤨) she held the pillow over their face so they couldn’t cry for her. The guards wings fluttered with excitement, finally some fun! As soon as she went to stand up, the librarian grabbed her by the scruff and threw her to the ground, of course instinct takes over now. She groans but the librarian takes a large book, the book of Alexander beetleton, the slapped it down onto the guard. Four quickly shot up and pushed the librarian away, their other two arms focused and picking her up. The librarian growled and glared at the guard, “they where trying to kil-“ four waved their arms and spoke in a somewhat menacing tone, “touch my personal guard again, and I’ll have this entire place burned down with you inside it.” The librarian backed off. Soon she leaned into four ms arms and the royal turned around, their four arms embracing their guard. “You goof ball, be careful.. I don’t know how I’d replace you.” She chuckled dryly into four’s mane, closing her eyes. What a day.
