Larry Butz is late. The police department set a time to meet with him in his hospital room regarding the incident at his apartment, and when Detective Jowd arrives, Larry isn’t in the room at all. In fact, he shows up, haggard and pale, a full ten minutes after the good detective does. Larry freezes: for the second time today, he’s been caught running out and about, not in bed resting.
Uhhhh...hiya, Detective?
While Larry has never met Jowd before, he’s heard of the bearded detective, and he’s very old friends with Inspector Cabanela. Interestingly enough, this scatterbrained idiot has a core of the dead of his own. He offers the man a handshake and slides back into bed, dipping his head low like a little kid who’s ashamed of doing something wrong.
I...I’m Larry. What happened last night was...not...good. Sorry, I needed to see my friends. They were hurt pretty bad and I got lucky with just a graze. I-I was worried, scared stiff...um, thanks for bein’ here. What d’you need me to like, talk to you about?

“W-Wait, n-no, I wasn’t here before! I just arrived at the scene, I got an alibi! It’s my traffic ticket, I can show you!” He was starting to panic, this was giving him awful flashbacks.
Detective, I’m telling ya! I don’t know anything about it!
The image of a man in a white coat under a dim light.
A gun left behind.
The park.
The meteorite.
Everything that happened after.
He’s about to lose himself when suddenly... The familiar figure in a green coat catches his eye and a flicker of hope rises inside him again.
He’s never been so pleased to see this man again.
“JOOOWD!!!!”

Eventually he’d been expecting that he would have to speak to the police or some private investigator for this case, but this one, he hadn’t seen before. Basic introductions out of the way, Apollo let his head fall back against the wall, coasting his fingers briefly over the itchy bandages over his wrist. They weren’t too firm over his skin, but still they weren’t the most comfortable with the salve beneath trying to do the work of healing. All of the truth. That was sounding familiar again. “.. I’ll start where it begins with me.”Otherwise, he was sure that the detective would be there with him longer than he bargained, and someone else would be onto him about his sparing sleep schedule. “There was a spirit who I... happened upon, not longer after talking with a friend who’d mentioned her. I let her get too close, and when she touched me, she left this mark,” He would raise his hand to his face where another bandage was, hovering cautiously. “ I met with another friend, Yomiel. He told me in the past that he dealt with ghosts... but we came to the conclusion that there wasn’t much he could tell me in the case of this one. Then, I consulted Mr. Wright for help, and we decided to leave together. I had ... hallucinations, I guess you’d call it, after not sleeping for a day or so, and then, out of the blue, when I call for Yomiel when we’ve all regrouped, there was this man that... looked like him, that showed up to the door.He pointed a gun at Larry, and I tried to tackle him,” Here was a blank spot, missing time between grabbing the flashy bastard and then, being on the floor. “ I don’t know what happened, still... I woke up, and.. I thought I’d shot...” There’s a breath, trying to clear his throat while he tries to look at something that doesn’t feel... quite so burdensome to confess to. Of course, he knew nothing about Jowd, but the possible judgement of a stranger was harder to ignore if he didn’t keep himself in check. “-My mentor. A-after that, I only remember briefly waking up before I fell asleep again... and that spirit showed up in my sleep, .. Gave me the rest of these injuries.”

Lynne suddently jumps on Blue, cheerfully laughing as she usually does whenever she decides to prank her awkward dead friend.
“HEEY BLUE!!!!”
“Yomiel, what the heck are you doing in other timelines?”
Hey hey hey @playghosttrick guess what >:3 “mourning blackcoat Cabanela” & “someone else is the manipulator” in one convenient package! (treat for @fyeahghosttrick‘s Ghost Swap exchange)
Cabanela walks into Jowd's office with the strained poise of a tipsy, tired man coming back home in the earliest hours of the morning, and it's reality's problem, not his, that he can't technically be tired nor certainly tipsy and that it is currently five in the afternoon. Black tux, white shirt, a bouquet of flowers he languidly throws on Jowd's desk.
