Manuel was still coughing blood from the last beating he had gotten for “misbehaving” in front of his kidnappers. He didn’t realize when or how Luciano had entered the room. He just appeared there, out of the blue. Or maybe Manuel was too dizzy with unknown drugs to see the door open.
-You didn’t have to come, Lu…- he paused to try and breath -I had the situation under control- An unbearable pain stung him as he tried to move to help Luciano get the ropes off of him. He screamed. And it was probably the first time he had screamed because of pain in front of the Brazilian. Or at least, he didn’t remember doing so before.
Luciano barely paid attention to the Chilean’s words. Jesus Christ, what did they even do to him? And why? He couldn’t help but think about what could have happened if he didn’t arrive here. Were the kidnappers even near? He looked around, afflicted, but apparently there was no one around.
“What--- What are you even saying? Of course you didn’t have anything under control!” he sounded breathless, not only because he have had to run to arrive in the place, but because of how nervous he was feeling.
He was trying to get the ropes off, but his trembling hands were definitely not helping. And neither did his sudden scream. “P-Please, Manu, don’t move.” his voice trembled as well, as he looked at the door again, waiting to someone to suddenly arrive because of his scream. “You will make me accidentally hurt you... And they might come so just-- just try to calm down, ok?” That was a terrible advice and he knew that. But he had no other idea of what to say while he finally got rid of the ropes.
“Y-You’re free. Can you stand?” And run, he would like to add, but he knew it was too much.
