rewatched hbomberguy's video on bbc sherlock and got pissed about how bad it is again, so i started a re-read of the original books to make myself feel better and as usual i am. SO confused as to why it became such a common thing for holmes to be characterised as a total asshole in adaptations when in the original he's... kind of a sweetheart? like he can definitely be insensitive and dismissive but he usually realises (or has his missteps called out by watson) and then like. apologises???? who the fuck set off the domino trail that lead to him being mischaracterised in like HALF of the modern adaptations

foxes eat a lot of stuff!! their primary diet is of small animals, like birds, rodents, and frogs, but they also feed on berries and grains!

i have been Thinking about a (perhaps '98 flavoured) crack-y trigun au in which a (slowly and reluctantly) redeemed knives has to come along with the quartet in order for them to keep an eye on him and keep him out of trouble, and so he ends up (begrudgingly) getting into Situations with them

bonus points if knives has an aneurysm over the fact that his little brother is in a relationship with the fucking assassin knives sent after him

bonus bonus points if vash and wolfwood aren't even in a relationship yet but they are just so fucking obvious about how in love they are that knives reads it that way (or, even funnier: they pretend to be in a relationship specifically to piss off knives and then it Backfires on them)

there are so many good opportunities for mp100 crossovers i honestly think it can work with anything

but primarily i have been Consumed by Brainworms about the idea of an ace attorney / mob psycho / gravity falls crossover. mainly because i think that the pure weirdgirl chaos that would erupt if you put maya fey, kurata tome and mabel pines in the same room as each other could kill god

also reigen and stan would totally hate each other's guts and have a weird overdramatic rivalry in which they keep trying to out-conman each other before eventually coming to a mutual begrudging respect for each other

and phoenix would be going insane because he thought only the fey family were psychic What Do You Mean There Are More Of Them (and would probably ALSO end up in a temporary rivalry with reigen because he unintentionally adopts all of reigen's stray children. and honestly they should kiss about it)
