Salams, what happens if a Tijani was feeling spiritually demoralized then he was to watch the "haram" videos? Is his allegiance to the Path still sound or needs a renewal? Thanks.

Wa ᶜalaykum as-salām wa raḥmatu’llāh!

“And He is the one who accepts the repentance of His servants.” (Qur’ān, 42:25)

Anas b. Mālik al-Anṣārī, may Allāh ﷻ be played with him, the servant of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ narrated: Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said,“Indeed, Allāh ﷻ is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than a person who has his camel in a waterless desert carrying his provision of food and drink and it is lost. He, having lost all hopes (to get that back), lies down in shade and is disappointed about his camel; when all of a sudden he finds that camel standing before him. He takes hold of its reins and then out of boundless joy blurts out: ‘O Allāh, You are my slave and I am Your lord’. He commits this mistake out of extreme joy.”

My humble suggestion is to turn to Allāh ﷻ without hesitation (tawba) and refresh your commitment to the Path by using the wird al-lāzim and the waẓīfa to be your go-to activities when you feel spiritually demoralized. Consistency has always been my struggle yet a saving grace for me. May He ﷻ give us all consistency in coming back to Him.

Since Murids of the Tijani Tariqa should only read books covering general sufism and avoid Tariqa specific sufism, would the recently released "The Drink of the People of Purity" by Shaykh Muhammad al-Qandusi count as the former or the latter!

As-salām ᶜalaykum wa raḥmatu’llāh! 

al-Ḥamduli'llāh, may Allāh ﷻ give success to His creation in drawing them closer to Himself. Actions are but by their intentions, and the better decision is to steer clear of that which could be harmful to the spiritually sensitive matters of one’s journeying to Allāh ﷻ. For the sake of serious consistency in one’s relationship with Shaykh al-Tijānī and to avoid the dangers of seeking spiritual assistance from outside the Path, it is discouraged for the aspirant to visit non-Tijānī saints and spiritual masters outside of this Path for that intent.

As far as books are concerned, and specifically this potentially beneficial text by the renowned Shaykh Muḥammad al-Qandūsī (may Allāh ﷻ have mercy on him), I humbly suggest that you defer the matter to your guiding teacher or initiator (muqaddam) to vet the book and deem its appropriateness for you, inshā'llāh. There is safety in asking questions and seeking support from within your own house.
