Hi. Did a quick Arcanist redesign.
December 20, 2023, Vs. December 29, 2019.
elaborating on my previous Auraboa doodle, with more thoughts about what my Ideal feathered snake dragon would look like
python face, with no eyelids. why are they called auraBOAs if they're modeled after venomous snakes (i am aware pythons aren't boas either don't @ me. but it's closer than what they have now)
body is entirely feathered, save for the belly scales. in the original drawing, they had a head crest of long feathers that was supposed to get shorter down the neck, and blend into the feathery back mane. in this one i shortened it greatly and made it more of a cockatoo crest thing. a longer crest could still be fun though
the wings and tail feathers have a rounded, elliptical shape to them. elliptical wings give great maneuverability, and would be ideal for a jungle-dwelling dragon
the original doodle had paws and coatl feather ear things, but i'm getting rid of both of those. i like the sleeker snake look that Not having them adds to. also someone in the notes opened my eyes to the hand possibilities, and if this redesign DID have limbs, they would have parrot feet
also sidenote about their name: is it just me or is Auraboa kinda. clunky to say? my brain keeps autocorrecting it to Aurabora, which rolls off the tongue so much nicer. maybe even Auraboras, to make the ouroboros reference clearer
banescale redesign concept. was never a huge fan of banescales and their naked looking legs. thought id see what theyd look like with some changes made. thoughts and critique welcome just keep in mind this was just a little sketch i did for fun :)
Stinky. Nasty bastard man. War criminal.
All jokes aside I like the Icewarden, he’s p cool, and I decided to make him the next deity to be redesigned. He was a bitch to think of ideas for though >:0
Oh? Are you wondering what those things in his back ice spikes are? WELL. One of my friends you know who you are introduced me to the idea that... the worst monsters or beings that are just too hard to contain normally, he keeps on his own body, as there would be no way that they could leave the ice without... well.. it’d probably take the Icewarden to die for them to finally escape.
Ah well.
bonus:
*breaks table* Whale Tidelord.
Yeah. whale Tidelord. You might be wondering how he’d be able to go on land if he’s a whale well I say fuck you he’s a deity he can probably float.
Nothing about his original design really screams... water... to me.. so like. Whale....
[insert overused joke about the tidelord being dead]
Stormcatcher? Bug? bro... those terms are interchangeable.
I just kinda wanted to make him a bug. And wanted to get rid of the arms. That’s it.
bonus:
yeah... mandibles
Well. The Arcanist is a bitch to draw.
Anyways, despite this being a deity redesign series, I didn’t really feel the need to change much about him :P If you look closely you should be able to see em though.
The Arcanist has committed war crimes and should therefore be executed
