“Fragile Thing” Playlist

This is my entry for @zablife ‘s lovely playlist exchange idea. If you know me, you know I’m never gonna turn down anything that includes music.

The story I was given is called Fragile Thing and it is written by @wandawiccan60 - it’s an Alfie Solomons x OC (Valeria Harris), and it is a very gripping story. It does include mature content, so please do not interact with it if you are under 18, but otherwise, please go check it out!!

So without further ado, here are the songs that came to mind as I was reading the story. I listed them in alphabetical order and included a little blurb on why I felt that it fit the story. I hope you like them!! 😊

I Will Destroy the Void in You - The Glorious Sons

I chose this song because I really felt like it could be said by either Valeria or Alfie once they found each other. I can see them saying that they’d destroy the voids in each other and strive to help the other live better. They’ve certainly seen each other at their worst and they’ve not been scared away…now they want to make sure that they’re living a better life together.

Man of Steel - Brantley Gilbert

I thought of this song when Alfie first stepped in and saved Valeria from Samael…he jumped into that ‘protector’ role without even knowing who she was, and I’m sure that he has no intentions of stepping out of the role anytime soon, for as long as he’s with her. He will constantly and consistently be the rock that she needs.

Save Yourself - KALEO

Valeria’s confession at the beach made me think of this song. She’s really broken from everything that’s occurred in her life/happened to her, but at the same time, she’s still willing to take a chance on Alfie. She sees that he genuinely cares about her and that he holds a love in his heart for her that Samael didn’t have. So she’d still saved a bit of herself for him…and she was willing to continue on living for/because of him.

Starting Over - Chris Stapleton

I feel like this song perfectly symbolizes Valeria’s new relationship with Alfie. It signifies that she’s coming out of something that’s broken, but that she still has hope. The line ‘and it don’t matter to me, wherever you are is where I wanna be’ kept on playing in my head while reading the story. She’s certainly found a new sense of solace in Alfie.

Wildfire - SYML … the alternate version also works

I feel like this song would be Alfie speaking to Valeria…to try and get her to realize that there is so much for her to live for yet and that she shouldn’t give up even though she had terrible experiences in the past. It’s essentially him saying that he thinks she’s enough, and that she’s got so much potential and life left to live.

Ozar stepped out, and behind him were four other figures, all waiting for his next movement or command.

"Looks...bright?" It was a rather bright colored place. He's never seen such vibrant colors before.

Before them stood a horse, pale blue with an offwhite blueish mane and had the body shape of two beach balls drawn together to form what was supposed to look like an equine creature. Her eyes were wide and staring at the five that had just stepped out of what looked nothing like what even her human world had.  Many other taurs of all kind looked in the same awe but were skittish to approach them or their ship.

With her best confidence she walked towards them and held out a hoof to shake. "Greetings! Welcome to Centaurworld! I'm Horse, that is my species and my name. Rider was not exactly creative." She grinned trying to be welcoming.
