A visit to the Framework Knitting museum of Ruddington with Joe’s parents opened our eyes to what the reality of a machine knitter would have been like in the early 1800. Whole families use to work here to produce everything from ties and socks to stockings and caps right into the 1920s before knitting moved to larger factories.
