Minerals: Franckeite
With a composition of Pb5Sn3Sb2S14, franckeite is a complex sulfide mineral named after the mining engineers Carl and Earnest Franck, who helped discover the first described occurrence of the mineral in Bolivia.
The mineral is gray or grayish black in color, with a Mohs hardness of between 2.5 to 3. It crystallizes in the triclinic crystal structure and, though relatively rare, can be found in locations around the world, including Bolivia, Canada, China, Australia, and Russia.
