The mixed excitement and dread of approaching the mechanical completion of a project, knowing full well that that's when you tear it all apart for repainting, followed by reassembly until it's done-done*.

I finally finished a project started during quarantine!

This was a scratch build of a 'half penny' (as in farthing) bike frame. The brakes came from a fork I already had, and I had to buy the front fork due to sizing issues, but the rest was salvaged. Rear wheel from a Huffy kick scooter, an abandoned knockoff Stingray was used for the seating section and handlebars, along with the main stem, and some carefully selected scrap metal to form the central tube. Welded together with the help of a student from the local trade school, and final assembly assisted by a mobile bike service since headsets are tricky.

The electric front wheel is an unmodified GeoOrbital 29er.
