ok so tbh i am very, very disappointed for various reasons and idk if you want me to go into detail here, or rather, how much I'm able to tell without spoilering you about it. so here's the spoiler free version:

speaking for myself, i wish i could go back in time and make me unread it to keep the positive memories from divergent and insurgent in mind, rather than this... well... devastating experience.

maybe this is just the first shock but tbh i think it is not only devastating but also really problematic and that bothers me most.

personally, i've been feeling very down and depressed after i finished the book and it is like a dark cloud hanging over me. not in a good way. but maybe this is just me. it is just that divergent and insurgent meant a lot to me because the books gave me strength and power last summer when i was ridden with anxiety. i felt like they made me strong and helped me to overcome or at least face my fears. so naturally, i wanted a positive conclusion to that, or at least a satisfying one. something that gives me power and hope - which is not the case. at all.

but of course tastes are different and maybe you won't see it that way. if you read it, read it with caution, especially if you're feeling down or anything. for me, it was depressing and disappointing and it's even more of a let down because of what the other books meant to me and how much i loved/love them.

if you read it, please tell me what you think about it because i'm super interested in how you see it!
