The Franzbrotchen is almost unheard of if you have never been to the German port city of Hamburg. Since leaving my adopted home for two years, the one thing I miss most is this calorific breakfast treat. It is labor-intensive to make and can be eaten in seconds… Perhaps it was better that I left Hamburg!
