Emotional attachments. More like what people believe he should be emotionally attached to, especially when it comes to his wife and kid. It’s not that he doesn’t want to love them and he certainly cares about them in his own way, but he tends to keep his distance. Pete has a difficult time developing emotional attachments to people, which makes it easier for him to kill when he needs to. He can certainly fake it and he believes he does a pretty good job of that, but sometimes there’s just nothing actually there. Not saying that he can’t or doesn’t develop those things, he can and has already, but when his emotional distance is brought into the spotlight, it either brings about anger or introspection. Usually both.

🔥 About the franchise as a whole
unpopular opinion meme
// Oooh! Good one, friend! I could go on. But let’s see. You know, generally, I think a lot of fans go a little too hard when they judge the plots that fall short in the series. Like, everyone talks about how much they love the series for putting out very forward-thinking and politically charged messages in some of their episodes, but often fail to recall that at the end of the day it was still always a television show that was on some level slave to reviews, viewership, production company/producers, and general mentality of the times (60s, 80s, 90s). And that does unfortunately in many cases include sexism, sexualization, and a lack of understanding of some issues there’s a hell of a lot more awareness for now. Hindsight is 20/20, guys. Give the writers and directors some slack.
