He swiped at his cheek. “ Don’t do that again. ”
His gaze follows Fiona’s towards the group of synths. Chris knows how they must feel --- all of the terror and uncertainty that comes with entering the Commonwealth. “They’ll learn to trust you,” he says with a reassuring nod. “I know you won’t let anything happen to them, and they’re gonna see that, too.” A frown tugs at the corners of his lips as he turns back to her.
“They don’t seem very open to me, either. I dunno what’s happened to them out here, but it wasn’t good.”

“ C’mon, tell me a secret. ”
As the two sat near the fire overlooking the Commonwealth scenery as they shared beers. Roadkill turned his attention from the sun that fell behind the distant hills to the figure across the dimly lit fire, grin spread wide across aging features. There was intent behind the crooked smile, whether it be malicious or not was to be decided.

💌 – Is your muse the type to write love letters? What about accepting them?
Chris would absolutely write love letters. He’s a hopeless romantic, and loves pretty much every cliche romantic gesture in the book. He’d never write a letter and give it to his significant other directly, however. In Fallout verse, he’d probably slip it into their bag or something for them to read later. Since he’s a mailman in modern verse, he’d probably think he’s being cute and slip it into their normal mail, if his S/O happened to be on his route.
And he would also definitely accept and keep love letters forever. He’s extremely sentimental.
❤ – How affectionate is your muse? How do they feel about PDA?
His love language is physical touch, so he’s very affectionate. Not to an uncomfortable extent, but he prefers to be touching his partner (or friends b/c platonic love, too!) whenever he can, even if it’s something as simple as sitting close enough their arms/legs brush. He likes the reassurance that being close to someone else offers. As a result, he has a hard time sleeping alone.
As far as PDA goes, he defers to however his partner feels about it. While he’s definitely uncomfortable with making out / doing anything bordering on sexual in public, he has no problem giving hugs, kiss, or other, more tame, shows of affection in front of others.

“Listen love.” John began, approaching the stranger as he awkwardly scratched the back of his head. “Don’t suppose you’ve seen a demon lurking around here?”

Vulpes had lost his machete, having buried it in the desert ranger’s thigh in the midst of their fight. Some combination of tough armor and tougher disposition had kept the enemy on his feet, however, and Vulpes, weaponless, found himself thrown to the ground, absorbing blows from knees and fists. Unlike the ranger, there was no armor to protect him; he had worn civilian clothes for the past year, in an oftentimes futile effort to remain undercover and safe following the Legion’s collapse. This particular “profligate” had not fallen for the disguise.
Determined, Vulpes grappled with the ranger and kicked him away. Of course, if his enemy had planned to use lethal force, he might already be dead. But he didn’t think on it, instead fighting only to keep himself from becoming a capture of the NCR - a fate worse than death, he had decided.
A second figure appeared only a short distance across the dry lake. Was she another ranger? Just a bystander? Vulpes almost considered calling for help. She would see him as a civilian, after all, and might help him. Might. There were many reasons why she might not, and so he turned his attention back to the ranger above him - only to be met with a sharp strike to the face.
Vulpes knew, as he clutched a now twice-broken nose, that he couldn’t win this fight alone.

He’s new at all of this. “All of this” ranging anywhere from emotions to something as simple as physical affection. Yet, there’s no denying that Fiona makes Chris’s heart race. Even he can read that one.
She’s been looking at her Pip-Boy for what feels like hours, worry lining her face as she tracks her next foray into the wasteland. When she looks to him, he smiles, something in his stomach fluttering when she mirrors the expression.
He leans down to press his lips to hers, wincing when their mouths crash together more forcefully than he intended. Almost immediately, he pulls back away, already feeling his face heat up with embarrassment.
“Sorry, that was . . . terrible.”

“Hey, sorry! I’m gonna go. Right now.”
He’s still groggy with sleep, his brain slowly processing the night before, when Fiona speaks up. Chris’s brow furrows at her words, and without thinking, he reaches out to grasp her wrist. His grip is light, easily breakable. “Wait,” he says softly, blinking sleep from his eyes. “Why are you leaving?” Panic washes over him as he wakes further. “Did I do something wrong?”
