I always thought it was sweet that Ben showed up at Martin’s last day on set. But the fact that he surprised him with it seems like more, somehow? It’s hard not to see it as a romantic gesture.

Interesting with the striped jackets, don't you think? I just don't get this. I realise the number of times they have wore same/similar clothes are probably something more than *just* an accident. Otherwise I just don't understand why this keeps happening. But maybe we are reading a bit to much into this? What was your theory?

Well, this time it wasn’t Ben who dressed himself, that’s what I’ve heard anyway, so the choice of clothes probably wasn’t up to him, BUT that doesn’t mean it isn’t weird, cause it didn’t happen the first time and I am quite sure that not the last time either. You know, once or twice I would maybe call it a coincidence, but it has already happened so many times that I’ve lost count. Although, it’s not just about those pieces of clothes that look so similar (for the record no clothes were ever EXACTLY the same) Ben has basically copied Martin’s entire fashion style. Of course, we very well might be reading too much into this, I probably read too much into everything that has anything to do with freebatch, I admit... but tbh I do think that them “sharing a closet“ holds at least a little significance. Ben admires Martin, I dare to say he even idolizes him. My theory (whether silly or not) is that dressing similarly, using similar phrases and gestures and trying to be sarcastic is a way of keeping Martin with him. I am not saying people should agree with me, no, but I think that Ben used to have, or maybe he still has a crush on Martin (platonic or not, I am just speculating)

Hi! You seem to have reached the same conclusion I did when I saw this viral last quoute. Why would Martin Freeman say such a thing just by accident. I mean... it isn't like he is not aware of what kind of audience he has in front of him. He is used to those questions (had them a 1000 times) and ought to have a standard answer. Instead they keep feeding us. *platonic* *we adore eahcother* *he is brilliant physically* You know the drill. And it just goes on and on and on. Very interesting indeed.

It’s not really a conclusion I've reached, just a hunch I have that he enjoys fucking with us for fun. But sometimes people just say things accidentally. I get that. I do it all the time. Either way, it seems like it was sincere.

No, it's not an expression. He's just saying that music is something they enjoy together. Which is interesting, because I get the feeling Benedict has adopted many of Martin's hobbies: music, fashion, overusing the fuck word.

I think that's a good way of putting it, that they're dependent on each other.  I think you're right.  John was sort of "deadish" until he met Sherlock and I think Sherlock saw that and knew he would benefit from being around.  Maybe Sherlock also saw how much he would benefit having John around (I seem to remember Sherlock mentioning how it helps him to bounce ideas off people), but I doubt Sherlock had any idea how much it would benefit him.

I sort of think Sherlock kind of has a habit of picking up strays.  Anyone else get that idea? Lots of random people that he's helped even if he says that he does it to alleviate the boredom, but John is kind of the only one that's stuck around and appreciated HIM, not just what he's done, but he himself.  

Does that make sense?
