On the occasion of his 57th birthday, King Frederik X awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog to Count Nikolai and Count Felix at a private event prior to the family lunch at Amalienborg. As a result of the appointment, the Counts must have a personal knight's shield created. When completed, it will be hung in the Knight's Chapel at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød.
Queen Margrethe gave King Frederik a portrait of herself as a gift for his 57th birthday. The portrait, painted by Lars Physant, was received as a gift by Queen Margrethe herself on her 85th birthday earlier this year. The portrait is titled "Foresight".
