BLUE BOLT (vol. 1) #7 (December, 1940). Cover by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon.
This is, as far as I can determine, the last time Blue Bolt appears on the cover of his own comic book. It is also the last Jack Kirby and Joe Simon cover for the book; they had previously provided the cover to issue #3.
The character of Blue Bolt was one of - if not , the - first collaborations between Simon and Kirby. Simon had created the character, writing and drawing the first story in issue #1, but by the next issue he had brought Kirby on as co-writer and penciller.
The two men produced the adventures of Blue Bolt, and his ongoing battle with the Green Sorceress, until issue #10. After that, they left to concentrate on the other features they were working on for other publishers. In particular, they became busy producing stories of some star-spangled superhero they'd created for an outfit called Timely Comics.
