a/n: this is a long time coming, this request was from a few months ago, and I apologize that it’s taken so long. Thank you for being so patient with me, I really really appreciate it.
warnings: none.
When you first started dating Freddie, you both agreed to keep the relationship low-profile because of how well-known he is around the city. So low-profile that you hadn’t even told any of your friends and Fred didn’t tell any of the boys, in case one of them would out you two by accident. You’ve managed to keep it a secret for seven months now and things were going really well for the both of you.
In fact, here you were, sitting in the stands, watching your boyfriend win his first shutout of the season and as the horn blows you stand up with everyone and clap for the team, not wanting to make too much of a deal. As you’re gathering your things you receive a text from Freddie asking if you can meet him at his apartment, you send a quick text telling him you’ll be there and head out of the arena.
You wait in his apartment for about twenty minutes before the door is opening and your boyfriend walks in, looking so handsome in his new grey suit.
“Good game Fred, I told you that you guys had it.” You flash him a smile and walk up to his tall frame, leaning in to give him a kiss.
“Thank you elskede, but I thought I told you to wear something that will keep you warm, don’t act like I couldn’t see you shivering in that thin sweater and vest.” Freddie pushes the vest off your shoulders, throwing it toward the shoe rack.
“Hm, maybe you ought to teach me a lesson then,” you giggle, grazing your hands across his back, “won’t learn if I’m not taught, right?”
Fred smirks, “Right.”
Picking you up, he brings you to the couch, the rest of the night filled with the sounds of your bodies loving on one another.

“Hey Fred,” Mitch voices, “do you have Amazon Prime?”
Plopping on the couch, Mitch picks up the remote and turns the tv on, going to the app he wanted and choosing a movie, throwing the remote beside him carelessly and lying down.
Fred rolls his eyes at the younger boy and continues his chat with Auston, “But anyways, I can’t go this weekend, my brother is coming to Toronto to catch up.”
Morgan looks up from his phone only to throw his head back in a groan, “No Mitch, you’ve watched this too many times.” Mo gets up to grab the remote only to furrow his brows, not knowing where it is.
“C’mon Mitch, give me the remote.”
Mitch shrugs, “I put it right there, I don’t know where it is.”
Huffing, Morgan stands, “Alright, get up, we have to find it before Fred gets mad, check the cushions.”
Mitch lazily reaches in the cushions and comes up empty, “Fuck, I swear it was here.” He groans childishly as he’s now forced to stand and look for it. He decides to lift the cushions first, surprised at how clean they are underneath. At least, one side was.
His brows turn up and he lifts the fabric up with two fingers, “Looks like Fred had some fun the other night.” He turns to Mo, who is still staring at his phone.
Annoyed, he throws it in his direction, the bra landing in his lap.
“Ah, ew, Mitch!” Mo grimaces, pushing the fabric to the floor, “We don’t even know who’s that is.”
Mitch just laughs, “Hey Fred, maybe you should call the girl you were with and tell her she’s left something.”
Fred and Auston enter the room at the little commotion, and Fred’s eyes widen at the sight of your bra, the one of which you asked him about when you called this morning.
He goes to pick it up but Auston grabs it before he does, “Huh, didn’t know you kept souvenirs for every one that walks through your door.”
Fred’s jaw clenches and he rips it out of his teammates hand, “I don’t, I haven’t had anyone else walk through the door since I’ve met my girlfriend.”
All three boys freeze at his words, “Girlfriend?!”
Smirking, Fred walks up to his bedroom to put the bra inside your drawer.
He hears Auston yell up the stairs, “Wait, it’s not your brother you’re meeting this weekend is it?”
Relationship: Married; Frederik Andersen x Pregnant!Reader
Summary: You tell your husband, Fred, that you’re pregnant after almost a year of trying.
Word Count: 1.1k
Warnings: None.
Fred was the love of your life and it hurt how much you loved him. The two of you were prefect. Your relationship had its ups and downs, like every relationship does, but the two of you always managed to come out of it stronger than before and you couldn’t imagine ever living your life without him.
And you couldn’t wait to start a family with him either.
Fred had been so good with your younger nieces and nephews and you couldn’t wait to have that with him. You couldn’t wait to have the baby bump and listen to their little heart beat while looking at them on the ultrasound screen. And you couldn’t wait to hold them and see their beautiful little faces.
You couldn’t wait to be a mom and Fred couldn’t wait to have that with you.
But getting pregnant was harder than the two of you expected.
You had been trying to get pregnant for almost a year now and nothing. Fred kept saying it would happen when it happened and it wasn’t something that could be rushed.
Well, you found out that it happened while Fred was away on a road trip.
It was going to be a week long trip away from home and it was the second day he was gone that you woke up feeling sick. As soon as you were finished throwing up, you pulled one of the pregnancy tests you kept under the sink out, hoping that you were experiencing morning sickness and were not catching the flu.
A little plus stared back at you, so you ran to the kitchen and chugged some orange juice and tried another one. And another after that. And all three tests stated you were pregnant.
You were so happy, and sad that Fred wasn’t there with you to experience this joy. A year of trying had finally paid off.
You debated calling Fred, but it was super early in California and you didn’t want to wake him. You didn’t know his schedule, so you didn’t know when would be a good time to call him during the day. You came to the realization that Fred would have to wait to find out.
You were happy and you couldn’t stop rubbing your still flat belly. The next two mornings you got up and took another test, just to make sure all the other tests weren’t lying to you. Every one came back positive and every time another wave of joy washed over you.
You and Fred were going to be parents.
On the third day of you knowing, you realized you should tell Fred in a cute, fun way. So, you turned to Pinterest for some ideas and decided to buy a tint pair of baby skates and a Leafs onesie. Your plan was to place them on the foot of the bed with a few balloons and one of the many pregnancy tests you had taken.
The plan was perfect.
You set everything up the morning of the day that Fred was coming home. You snapped a few pictures to have and started getting ready, despite the fact that you knew that Fred wasn’t going to get home until well into the evening. You were just so excited and needed to do something.
“(Y/N)?” Fred called, stepping into the apartment and closing the door behind him.
You quickly ran to the door and jumped into Fred’s arms. He caught you easily and hugged you back just as tightly as he let out a light laugh. “I missed you too.”
“I don’t like when you’re gone.” You whispered into Fred’s shoulder as he put you back down on the ground.
“I know, darling.” Fred answered and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
Fred pulled back from the hug to press a sweet kiss to your lips. He pulled back after a moment and started to take off his coat, draping it over one of the dining room chairs before kicking off his shoes. “I will clean this up tomorrow, I promise, but right now all I want is to sleep in our bed with you in my arms.”
You smiled at him, also wanting that. Your smile grew as you remembered what Fred was going to find when he walked into the bedroom.
“You can tell me all about your week tomorrow, alright? Right now some peace and quiet and cuddles with my beautiful wife.” Fred said, brushing your hair behind your ear.
“Yeah, it sounds prefect.” You agreed, pressing a kiss to the inside of Fred’s wrist.
“Then it’s settled.” Fred smiled and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, guiding you towards the bedroom.
Fred stopped once he opened the bedroom door.
“(Y/N)?” He asked slowly, his eyes moving from the balloons to you. “What’s this?”
You just shrugged your shoulders and stepped into the room, walking over to the bed before turning to face him. You bit your lip in an attempt not to smile.
Fred smiled at you uncertainly and hesitantly walked over to the balloons to see what was collected at the foot of the bed. Once he realized he was looking at baby skates and a onesie, a huge smile broke out across his face.
Fred looked up at you before reaching out and stoking the skates with his finger and tracing the Leafs logo on the onesie. His fingers then landed on the positive pregnancy test, which he picked up and walked over to you.
Fred held the test in one hand and reached up to cup your cheek with the other as he looked down at you with love filled eyes. “I love you so much.”
“I know.” You replied with a smile.
“We’re having a baby.” Fred whispered happily.
“I know!” You laughed.
Fred scooped you up and spun you around with the biggest smile on his face. “We’re having a baby!”
The two of you laughed as Fred put you back down and kissed you deeply before pulling back and getting down on his knees in front of you. You watched as he pulled your shirt up and pressed a kiss to your still flat stomach.
“I love you. I love both of you so much.” Fred whispered before pressing multiple kisses across your stomach, making you laugh.
