January 10, 1999 HERVEY Frederick William John Augustus Hervey, 7th Marquess of Bristol also known as John Jermyn and John Hervey was a British aristocrat and businessman notable for both his wealth and its use to fund his vices which included drug addiction, illegal activity related to drugs, flamboyant homosexuality and dissipated lifestyle. He died on January 10 at the age of 44. The coroner recorded that he died of "multiple organ failure due to chronic drug abuse”.
