Duchess stirred from where she lay in the dirt, and blinked, raising her hands to her eyes in a bid to block out the light. She slowly sat up, looking around at her surroundings. Nothing but dust and dry grass for as far as she could see.
She managed to scramble up to her feet, looking down at her attire. She was wearing jeans and a shirt, a sticker was stuck to the shirt, she peeled it off, looking around as she did so. Looking at the sticker, she frowned slightly. On it was ‘my name is ____’ and written on the line was a name. Duchess.
Her look was one of confusion. “Is that my name?” She muttered. She couldn’t remember anything from before waking up, in the dirt. Duchess looked up, starting to feel the panic set in. She could feel something else too, but she couldn’t rightly tell what it was. It was like a hundred different somethings, connecting her to...she didn’t know what. She rubbed at her chest as if trying to make the feeling go away.
Her bottom lip trembled. Where was she? Who was she? Duchess wiped away the tears that were starting to fall. ‘It’ll do me no good just standing here.’ She thought, as she started walking in a random direction. ‘Just gotta hope for the best.’
